Florida Home Watch Association

The Florida Home Watch Association was founded in 2014 following a critical incident that highlighted the vital importance of professional home watch services. Our founder, Bill Wright, discovered a dangerous situation during a routine property check when he found an electric range stuck in self-cleaning mode with a damaged high-temperature override. Investigation revealed that a lightning strike earlier that day had created an electrical surge that compromised the safety system, creating a potentially catastrophic fire hazard.

This eye-opening experience reinforced the critical need for trained, professional home watch providers and inspired the formation of our association. We recognized that homeowners needed access to qualified professionals who could identify and address such hazards before they resulted in property damage or worse. At the very least the larger the network of professionals the more people they could inform and possibly save other homes from damage.

Today, we are an association of professional Florida Home Watch companies united in our commitment to delivering exceptional quality services to every customer we serve. We work diligently to promote business practices that represent the home watch industry with integrity and professionalism, setting the standard for excellence throughout Florida.

Recognizing the rapid growth in demand for home watch services across our state, we believe Florida needs more qualified providers to meet current and future needs. Through our association, we support the responsible expansion of our industry, ensuring that customer safety and satisfaction remain the top priority as our member businesses grow.

Our Standards

Every association member commits to upholding our Core Values and meets stringent professional requirements. All member businesses must maintain current registration with the State of Florida, and business owners undergo criminal background checks. Additionally, members must provide proof of current general liability insurance and bonding to ensure complete protection for their customers.
